Hey,
The engine in my 68B does not have an identification plate on it and never has since i owned it. I am trying to find out which exact engine is in the car. There are some numbers stamped onto the block behind where the starter motor sits. This starts with a 12H........ followed by some numbers. I was told by a head manufacturer that it is an 18GG but i would like to confirm this as it doesn't tie in with the number on the log book.
Thanks
Nicholas.

If you can find it, the "casting clock" will give you the manufacturing date.
What's that? Best have a read of this thread and check the pictures.

try this for the head, the # you want is under the valve cover.
