Anyone here ever built a cradle to run your motor on as a test prior to installing in the car.

I dont know what tests you're thinking of doing. I did crank mine over prior to installation just to get the oil pressure checked. It was held by the crane and rested on the oil pan on a piece of wood.

I thought of it and still might do it. But my engine builder said not to run it for more than 20 minutes to bed the cam. The rings need to be under load to seat and therefore running with no load may glaze the bores and never seat the rings.

I like the idea of using a garden hose. Granted, it wastes water, but it's simple. Temp wouldn't get up either I suppose.
