Does anyone know where i can get a 1493cc (1500) motor? I would like to rebuild one so one day i can put it my car. I would like to put flat head pistons in it and roller rockers and all that good stuff.

Keep an eye on Craigslist- they come around pretty often.

There is the factory BL Spitfire Competition Preparation Manual in reprint, this covers several 1500 engine mods, but is a bit dated. There is the MG Midget/AH Sprite Comp Prep book, I think by Stapleton, which has some recent updates covering the 1500. Something specifically devoted to the 1500 Midget, I have yet to see. Not much interest in hot rodding a long stroke tractor engine with boat anchors on both ends. That said, I have more than once volunteered my car as a test subject, should anyone who knows anything about our tractor engined cars want to experiment. I am also centrally located...

Again, hang out in the Spitfire clubbie spots. If it can be done, I'm certain they've tried it. ;)
