How long does it take all the tape and labels stuck on a new exhaust to burn off? :D

I scraped off as much as I could with a razor but it still stinks! I counted four labels and seven pieces of scotch tape wrapped round the head pipe!

Being a traditionalist and always in a hurry to see it run," burn baby burn."

Soak them with terpentine for a few hours and whipe the rest away.

That takes the fun out of it, what's an MG without a cloud of smoke pouring out of it somewhere. :) And as David said, I was in a hurry, I had to get the exhaust on yesterday ready to take the car to the shop today to fit a new top.

Which one? The '65, I hope - I'm sick of seeing it on jackstands, man!

Maybe I should update that photo, it was taken 9 years ago. OK, so it still isn't running but it isn't on those jack stands any more. :)

Mike,

don't mind, when I put my peco to my stage 6 roadster, there was enough colour left to burn and don't ask for clowds...you will see :-)

Betcha the stink is the paint, not the labels/tape.
