Im selling a 5 speed Nissan/Datsun tranny that came out of a 1979 280ZX. Engine/tranny ran fine until kid forgot to strap down battery and battery arc'd out on the hood, shorting the electricals.

FWIW, the 79 5-speed has, IIRC, about .85 5th gear. Later ones got down to .74x.
I have an 82 model tranny as well, but I still have to pull the engine out.
the 82 had about .75 and this setup is beautiful in a B. Actually I think there were two "about.75" ratios.
someone I talked to here (in N Calif) rattled off the different ratios that 280/z boxs had for 5th gear. I wriote them down but be damned if I can find the scribble.
I would suggest you determine the 5th gear ratio for the boxes you are selling and pass on the info.
Tranny is still available. Original buyer was unable to followup with purchase.
