Sometime in mid-January, I decided to tackle 6 or 8 rust bubbles I had noticed at the bottom edge of my left front fender...just forward of the door.
I knew it would take a long time...calendar wise...because of the competition for my time...and $. You know the drill...job, family, numerous house projects , other vehicles, weather...on and on. Of course I got bitten by the "might as well" bug, and did a lot more than just fix the rust bubbles. I finally got everything completed and we're back on the road as of today.
I have posted a few other times during this job, so I'll try to keep this short.
I was lucky in that the rust bubbles had not eaten too much. Had to repair the fender, minor repair on the sill. Might as wells included pulling the right side fender and doing some early rust repair there, new windshield glass, polishing windshield frame, sandblasting and minor repair on the headlight pans, repainting Rostyles, new tires, and new grille.
I had many "adventures," developed some new scars on my knuckles, renewed my Navy vocablulary, and actually learned a lot. However, I DO NOT wanna do any of that work again anytime in the near future. The only thing I'm not completely happy about is the new grille. As I mentioned in an earlier post, it just didn't fit well. You can see in the picture that it just isn't shaped exactly right.
Hopefully, I've been successful in attaching a picture of the front end, and one of the markings on the new glass (someone had asked me about it).

Couple more.
Ignore the single wiper blade. I broke the other one and haven't had time to find another.
And I think I may have my parking lamp lenses on backwards...I just can't remeber which way the go.
Looks great, that is motivation for the rest of us to tackle some of thos time consumming jobs...
Very nice I can not hardly wait till i get mine out and drive it maybe in a month are so.

Nice......
If you mean with parkinglenses your signal lights in the front (sorry do not know correct English word), they are installed correctly.
Larry, your car looks great. It has the finger prints of pride all over it.

Looks good Larry, nice job. I agree with the guy above when he said he wished that his looked that good up close.
You're referring to the grille being off to the left, or passenger side at the center piece?
That was the case with a whole batch of earlier 62-67 grilles back a couple 4-5 years ago. I wonder if they were able to take the frames and put in different grille section and hawk them to the later group of chrome bumper people in hope's they wouldn;t bitch too much.
That's what you're referring too, right? The center piece being off by about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch or so to the pass side.
Can you post a straight on picture, it's kinda hard to see exactly what you're talkin' about.
Looking good though Larry! I love the windshield, that looks awesome. How did that job go???

Actually, the badge is pretty well centered. It might be off by 1/8 inch, but I could have adjusted easily for that if it hadn't been for the height problem. The grille is just too tall in the middle. I had to rework the mounting brackets on the bottom to compensate, and I had to make new ones for the two outside "brackets" on top...needed longer ones.
I'm back on my scheduled work rotation, so it will be a few days before I can post a straight-on shot.
Larry
wow great job Larry. I'm a few steps behind you....love the "Tennessee orange", the paint store didn't handle "L.S.U. purple and gold tiger stripes". But I told the wife if there is a third MGB, it'll don the stripes. I think it'll look kewl!
