Finally, I'm got my baby ready for her first show! Its just a mixed show at a local church, but I going to make it. Should be aroung 300 cars. Thursday was a daylong thrash to try and solve ignition issues. All my new stuff (dizzy w/Pertronix) replaced with my good friend, Dan Cramp's, 30 year old stuff. His works. Thanks so much for your help. Also endured ANOTHER core plug failure. Middle-side core plug started leaking badly after what I thought was the final test run. Glad I had the copper expansion plug that I could not use for the rear plug blowout. More on that later.
Wish me luck; one, that I make it the 35 mile round trip without having to be towed or pushed home(happened twice this week) and two, that my beauty is a hit with the rod and custom crowd. Here are a couple pics. Front bumper added after pictures taken.

Looks like a winner to me. Most of all, have fun at the show.

Hey Mike, I resemble that remark. The distributor (a 25D) at least has a Pertronix. See you tomorrow, with the 70 GT. It should be alot of fun. Dan
I remember on the way to my first show last summer i followed my brother in his 66 vw beetle and he threw a rod through the case. Never did make it to the show, i had to drive him home and get a trailer.

Really nice B Mike!
Hope all goes well. I went to my first show last spring in Edmonton (the first ever as a driver/owner). I spent many years watching and admiring cars in shows as an observer. Anyway, the weather was perfect and I followed my brother-in-law's TR 2 in, and had a friend's GT6 behind me. We had soooo much fun... but I digress...
Good luck, I'm sure your '71 will stir lots of interest.
P.M.
What a long day. We had a great time and saw a lot of awesome cars. Out of about 300 cars, Dan and my car were the only B's. There was an A that was nice cosmetically, but the mechanicals were rough. I told the guy that his A made the Ferrari parked next to it look bad, he said, "Oh that's ok, that's mine too".
Anyway, LOTS of interest and great comments, but no award. All awards went to old American rods, customs and muscle cars. Hey, we were on their turf, it ok. Next weekend its All British Car Day in San Diego. I'm really excited about a real chance to compete with peers.
The car ran well except for the throttle wanting to stick. I had to blip the throttle between shift, kind of a pain. I have to get with Jimmie Hilton to get it ironed out.
