How long have we had the little flags beside our names, in the left information box and Avatar area?
Great idea, but never noticed before.

Will you be putting a Quebec flag up for Derek up North? :D
Yeah, well, shuffled the order around. Skye Nott has a nicer ring.
Very nice touch and very much appreciated.

Poirier is a hard name to say and spell once you get out the of the 'vast sphere of influence the Quebecois hold' :)
Locally there is 2/3rds of an entire column in the phone book of Poiriers. Currently we are under the protection of the US but every summer the Quebecois still invade our beaches :)
One of the reasons being I got tired of getting "Poier" mistaken for "Poirier" ... its not French actually it was some sort of weird anglicized Austrian-Russian name.
Of course now I have to put up with "Knott"...

See! even I got it messed up :)
Ya gotta stop by more often so we wont make the same mistake :)

Could be worse... Your first name could be Will. :)
I, for one, welcome our P. Nott overlord.
... and I wanted to see the Aussie flag next to my name.
They put the wrong flag beside my name, here's the proper one. :)
Are you guys planning another revolution with the north?
Guess the UN will need to step in and provide a demilitarized zone. LOL
I hope that CNN and FOX carry live coverage!!

Didn't CNN set OJ up again? They may be too busy with that to bother, Jim.

Skye:
My paternal ancestors came to this country now called 'Canada', from Ireland, around 1790-1810. We then had to endure confederation in 1867, and worst of all, that 'horrible' flag the Liberals chose for this newly named country back in the 1960's or so.
All of this happened, of course, without anyone asking me.
Can I have the Irish flag beside my name? But, as my family moved there from England in the 1640's, maybe I should have the Union Jack (my mother's family came from there also)? Or maybe the Scottish flag, as my wife's grandmother was from there? Oh, come to think of it, my father-in-law was from the U.S., but his family came from England in the 1600's.
Decisions, decisions. :-)

As we say here, "Mange la merde!.

If you family moved to Ireland from England in 1640 it would not be the Union Jack which was not completed until later..
ERic, should that not be the Boxing Kangaroo next to your name??

Hmm, more research needed into flags, I guess. I enjoy genealogy/family history. I've gone back as far (tentatively) as Cromwell's invasion of Ireland in the 1600's.

There would have been no "Confederation" if the Fenians had their way :)
As for the "Boxing Kangaroo" - I will leave that as my memory of wresting the America's Cup from the Americans... a great day!
I think I want our real flag:
