Two seasons ago when I got the MGA back on the road I reglected to check the front end.. a couple of seasons later I noticed excessive tire wear on the inside of each front tire. According to my trusty Cen-Tech gauge they are excessively toed in right now. The Haynes manual says the right setting is parallel? Isn't some toe in required or preferred?

Inside tire wear is an indication of either excessive toe-out or excessive negative camber. Excessive toe-in should cause outer tire wear. I don't know what your problem really is, certainly not toe-in.
Thanks everyone, I set them to parallel.
Chuck, I would have bet money on being toe out issue also, maybe I did not measure right the first time, not sure, but should be OK now.
I set up my MGA with a wee bit of toe-in. I guess I just couldn't fathom really needing none.
My neighbor's Midget needs a little toe-in or it's too skittish on the highway. Don't you need a bit of toe-in for the steering wheel to self-center, etc.? Is the reason that there is zero toe-in that the suspension creates some toe-in automatically under load or cornering?

I should add that my car is not road-worthy yet, and I haven't tried it either way...
