Is it possible to have a "Weak" fuel pump? The pump on my 77 MGB seems weak. I believe it is an aftermarket pump with a plastic housing and banjo bolts with gaskets for the fuel lines. Is there a way to test this pump and then maybe repair?

why not get an SU and be done with it? The new electronic one is great....pricey one time never need to mess with it. That saves time and money . Spend your hard earned money only once, buy quality, and there is not such thing as good and cheap it is either one or the other......

I think that is sound advise. I had a bad pump on 74 Midget and replaced it with an SU. Have not thought about it until just now.

I've posted this question in another thread but I'll ask it again here - how difficult is the new electronis SU pump to install? Is it simply a matter of taking the old one out and putting the new one in, or is there some re-wiring involved?

Thanks

Shane - If you still have the original SU fuel pump installed, it is strictly a plug and play to install the new, all electronic SU fuel pump - they are identical except 'under the hood'.
Cheers,

Thanks Dave.

Do I need to worry about the o-ring on the banjo bolts?

Absolutely. Why replace the pump and not the $1.60 it will cost for the gaskets.
