Second post today.

I'm installing new seats in my GT. They're Corbeau Clubmans which are proving to be quite difficult to install but I think have it licked.

How much head room should there be? I'm only 5' 10" and I have roughly 2 inches of head room and that's with my seat reclined at about a 65 degree angle. If I hit a resonable bump I hit my head. I can't imagine being able to fit a helmet should I choose to do a track day (hence the more agressive seats).

I want to ensure that I get the new seats installed low but not too low so I need a "normal" head room measurement as reference.

My 71 has 33" measured from the lowest part of the seat (just in front of the backrest) to the headlining.

My seats are a bit tired though so that measurement may be a bit high.

We ran into the same thing with the PanAm Gt project we worked on, same exact seat I think, here's my thoughts on the subject. The seat barely fits the GT, and sorta consume the car, then if you use their slider kit, you sit too high, add to that you better have a skinny butt, and even if you fit in the seat, it's not very comfortable for any lenght of time.

Hi Hap,

Those look like Forza's not Clubmans. How you got them to fit in a B is quite an achievemnt. I tried to test fit a pair that my firend has in his 60 something Alfa GTV and you're right that they "consume the car".

The Clubman doesn't have those wide wings up near the shoulder and is more narrow. Clubman's are said to be more comfortable because the seat back is laid back more. Hopefully I won't encounter the same hieght problem you did. I'll know soon enough. I'm starting with the passenger seat so I can adjust, if necessary, when I get to my (the drivers) seat.

Another affect of what I think is a result of sitting too high is that my vision out the windsheild is often blocked by the rearview mirror on right hand bends. Any comment on that?

PS: Not to brag but I've been told that I have skinny butt. Probably a result of all the bicycling I do.
