What is the best source for a replacement- how hard to change and what all should be done while i'm at it? Of course the current one leaks from the top side- big surprise;-)

Thanks,
Steve

Not hard but an extra set of hands makes things a bit easier

Steve,
I replaced mine with the kit from BritTek in New Hampshire and had good results, however the accuracy of the gauge was affected somewhat. I now run out of fuel with the needle a little right of the "E".

Replacement tanks don't have the drain plug in them, for what that's worth.

I replaced leaf springs at the same time as I had the comon driver's side lean. Kit from BTek also and no problems with that. Good time to check that shocks aren't leaking, too.

Good luck!

Got one from Moss wound up with a major fuel leak that cost me about $150 to fix. It was leaking at the brazed on fitting where the fuel pickup line attaches. I asked on an earlier post about what to do got different answers including

use one of the epoxy gas tank sealers

get it brazed

return/exchange it with Moss.

Other owners reported having the same problem.

I elected to have it fixed by my local repair shop to avoid the major Pain In The Ass of draining it, packing it and shipping it to Moss.

Got mine from Moss, courtesy of Chris Roop. No problems at all with the gauge or anything else, and the tank is baffled inside. Easy job - four hands would've been easier but one person can do it.

This might help - I went through this with my 72 and wrote it up for my club newsletter (I'm the editor so it helped me out). :)

$150? I had my local radiator repair guy re-braze mine for $30! Move to NY! Things are much cheaper here! LOLOL!
