I am thinking about just biting the bullet and selling my B and cutting my losses... I have no idea what to ask for it...i dont really wanna fix anything...simply put...

it needs a new body.. i still drive it everyday..

here is my email addy: bloodbought_me@yahoo.com

send me an email and I can send pics.. and we can talk.. i literally have 15k in this thing and realize i may not even get 15% of that back..

I have entirely too little time and not enough money for another car. I hate to let it go but.. there are always MG's to be found!

this would be a good match for the 74 roller that's been stripped and is almost ready to paint--in California for $600 or $800 (can't recall which)

I've got my '72 rust-free tub up for sale still. With it and a few more parts you could build one very nice '72 B for not that much more cash. :D

Shawn:
Could you give me a list of parts you have to finish the car.
Your tub looks great and would probably facilitate what I would like to do with the sc engine combo pictured in my avatar along with a long list of other upgrades. My 79 is in such good shape as it sits I hate to do an engine swap on it right now, especially with the weather getting nice.
Just send me an email or pm

Jon, I've got most of what is needed to build the complete car. I had this car 99% complete in 2002 (as seen in the photos of my journal). I got rid of the reproduction sheet metal (it didn't fit well) and the doors which both had the COD syndrome when I stripped the car back down for re-painting. . I planned to replace everything panel-wise with new Heritage panels (which weren't available in the mid 1980's when I put the reproductions on) before re-painting the car again. I also sold the 4-speed tranny 'cause I wanted to install a T-9 kit or overdrive. Other than those items it's pretty much all there. Most of the parts are NOS or rebuilt OEM. I hope this answers your question without me needing to inventory all those parts. :D

Thanks David. Yes it's sad to let her go after all this time and effort. I'd like to see her go to a good home where someone can finish the restoration on her and enjoy her in all her rust-free glory! I've got $25k invested in this project and I know I'm going to see pennies on the dollar. But I need the garage space and I've now got my '74 GT to spend my time and money on. If someone wants the tub and almost all the nice parts needed to put her back together I'll take $5k (firm) for her. Put another $5k into her and you'll have a $20k MGB for about half that (not including your labor).

Shawn:
Ok..lol..let me put it this way..you have the fenders, bumpers, grill, doors, windshield with frame, hood etc with associated peripherals(door handles ,attachments, etc.)
A general inventory would be helpful.
I would also need to see what volume it would occupy if I were to have one of my trucks pick her up with all the associated parts involved.
It may be easier to just fly down and see what would be required to ship it back without getting all the stuff beat up in transit.
I could use a trip to Dallas anyways, it's been awhile since Ive been down there.

Hey Jon. I can do a fairly detailed inventory of all the parts this weekend. There are no wings, bonnet, front valance, or doors (I do have one of the old doors still but it's got the COD). The grill, bumpers, and overriders are the early car types (as seen in the photos) but are included. The bumpers, grill, and overriders are early Moss reproductions from the 80's (fairly good copies) and have all been triple chrome plated within the past ten years. I remember now that the seat cushions are missing too. All the nuts, bolts, washers, and all other plated parts have recently been re-plated with white zinc. I hope that you're aware that I'm planning on swapping the car back to the steel wheel setup so I can convert my GT to wires. I've told several other interested parties about this but didn't know if you knew or not. I'm including the very nice aluminum mags off my GT which have very good tires on them. If/when you come to Dallas you'll see them (and everything else). Holler if you have any more questions. Thanks! :D

Shawn, I have talked myself into keeping the Little Guy and going through a ton of work once more. I bought myself a run around daily driver last night..

If you were looking to sell that shell w/o all the suspension ect... I might be interested...

Jonathan, I can sell you just the tub if that's what you want. I just thought the buyer would want to be able to roll her around if, for nothing else, transportation purposes. I can always sell any parts not taken by the buyer so selling just the tub is no big deal for me. I have to wonder how you would transport it though. :D

Shawn, can I stand first in line for the grill, bumpers, Seats, carpet, top, door panels, floor mats, custom steering wheel, am-fm-gps/onstar-with remote and trunk-mount amp and speakers? Oh, and does the tub have to actually ROLL? If not, I want divs on the wheels too!! (i'm chuckling, but serious about the grill anyway)
Dean
p.s., Oh and how much for the kid in the photo? so cute! hehehe Cheers!

Dean, I'll pay you a thousand bucks to take him now and bring him back after he's turned 18! He'll be five in May. :D

I just removed a front crossmember from a B. 3 of us just picked up the front and rolled the tub onto a flat bed. It had the rear axle. Piece of cake.

Shawn if you part out the tub, i am looking for a set of vent windows/frames and of course a full interior carpet/panel set. ( i think i am second in line)

Ahh... careful what you wish for Shawn. My GF has an 18yo daughter she would probably trade. I call her "The Little Princess" Droped out of HS in her senior year and seems to think life is one big party for someone else to pay for. Thank god she doesn't live with us. Jim
