back to Renault? Ferrari is reportedly wondering if a dream team could be controlled.

I could see him moving back to Renault, I was sure after Alonso ratted out McLaren to the FIA (it seemed that way to me, it looked like he handed over the email to make sure his driver's points would be secure, but I don't know all the details) that he would be on the outs... of course I could see Alonso staying just to spite the team!

I doubt Ferrari would take him, at least they should not, I don't see anything wrong with Raikkonen - Massa it seems like an excellent partnership, and if their car had been on the same pace as the McLarens then I'm sure it would be the reverse and a 1-2 for Ferrari in the drivers championship. I think Ferrari need to settle post-Schumi and perhaps get some better strategists (Ross Braun is sure missed - wtf were they thinking in Japan going out on intermediate wets??)

What a stonking good season!!

I wouldn't want Alonzo either.

I think he would be better off going back to Renault. He seemed more comfortable there - and he and Flav seem to get along.

I think the interesting thing is the change in Hamilton - he went from being a very likeable, low key, and honest racer to a spoiled brat in less than a season. It has been blatently obvious that Ron is playing favorites - Alonso will be much better off leaving them behind.

I wonder what would have happened if McLaren were the only team to ignore the rules and go out on inters? I bet Ferrarri would have had a hissy fit and both McLarens would have been disqualified!

I don't see this spoiled brat angle that people are alluding to with Hamilton, personally

I think he's had every right to be angry at Alonso, for holding him up in the pit box in Hungary, for pushing him off the track at Spa, etc - Alonso plays dirty and its been a rude awakening to the realities of F1 for the bright-eyed youngster

I don't know how you could not show a preference at this point for the driver that cares about his team vs. the driver that blames his team, for selling out his team to the FIA, for offering his mechanics more money to beat his teammate, etc. Not to mention that Hamilton has led the whole championship, why shouldn't he be favoured?

Hamilton better be thanking Alonso.

If it were not for Alonso and De La Rosa turning over the emails, McLaren drivers would have also been booted (which they should have been).

Ferrari has a good team with Kimi and Massa. No need to mess with that for the near future.

Alonso needs to go back to Renault. Question is, can they field a competitive car?

The issue in Hungary was Hamilton's doing! And you claim Alonso plays dirty - it was Hamilton playing dirty that caused it, if he had followed the procedure they had agreed on, it would not have happened. But he is the "blue eyed boy" so everyone blames Alonso. Again, if the same thing had happened with Ferrari, nobody would have said a word!

I think you are reading between some lines to come up with claiming Alonso sold out his team - he told Ron Dennis FIRST that he had e-mails discussing the Ferrari papers and asked if he should tell the FIA - Ron said he should. Remember that he was asked to testify under oath - should he lie to protect his team? Of course, this little fact is overlooked in the rush to paint Alonso as the bad guy.
