I think I tried Fuller's ESB back in the late 70s or early 80s. There was a little store near where I worked that was famous for their selection of imported beer, and I must have bought it there.

If it's the Cricketers inn I'm thinking of, it used to be my local weekend pub. The cricketers at Clavering? This is where English celebrity chef "Jamie Oliver" was brought up as his Mum & Dad owned the pub. A lovely old pub, but you had to get there early to sit down.
If it's not that one, then there are probably thousands of "Cricketers inns" around the country.
I used to drive past Fullers every week. It's on the North circular rd around London. They make a Beer called "London pride" which is a nice pint and I still buy it today in my local supermkt.

Used to be some Fullers near where I grew up that took corn and transforemd it into white lightnin'. Prob'ly no connection, though. Then there was a house about a mile from where I lived as a lad - exploded one day. Blew to smithereens. Turned out some moonshiners had leased it and set up a rather sophisticated still inside. Unfortunately, none of them was good plumber - a natural gas leak filled the house until the burner on the cooker set it off. Ka-boom... Fortunately no one was there and no one was injured.
