Well mine is broken and there is a rod that holds the spring assembly in place however it seems to have a rivet type end on one side and I am not sure how to remove.....Do any of you guys have any experience in this area or do I just need to bite the bullet and buy a replacement?

Thanks in advance,
Marc

Marc, I've never had one go bad but replaced mine for cosmetic reasons. I'd suggest replacement while they're still available.

Thanks....last question.....Do you know where I can find a replacement rubbe "Button" for my manual push button starter? My is very frail and I really don't want to replace the entire mechanism....

Thanks :)

Marc, you are probably better off buying a new one, however do your best to find an NOS unit. The current repros are only so-so quality.

Time for a trip to the local MGB junkyard.

Thanks,
