I did it yet again. I turned the head lights on this morning because I was driving through a snow shower, and of course I forgot they were on when I parked at work. Really, really dead battery at 6:30 this evening.
Some years ago, or last summer or so, someone posted a diagram for installing a relay and buzzer to warn numb-skulls like me the lights are still on when the engine is off the and door open. I can't find it and would appreciate anyone reposting the diagram or a link.

We added a relay that energizes when the key is on and ran the power to the lights through it. When the key is off, the lights are off and no annoying buzzer. Ours is a '71 so your wiring would probably be different but I think you could figure it out. I'll have to look at it to see how I did it. I'll try to post a schematic tomorrow. (Today if you are anywhere east of the Pacific time zone. :D)
