After replacing a defective heater switch..."chinese", heater fan did come to life although only one speed. Lucky there. I've got hot coolant going in to the exchanger and hot coming out the other hose. No Heat.

The rotary actuator that says defrost, interiour moves and I hear something like a metal part(flap?) moving slightly. WHat would be the best way to fix this? No heat or air flow out of either the top defroster or interiour?

Actually got cold here and I really had to goose the gas pedal up and down while cranking it to get the car to start it this morn with the choke on! I know there is no accel pump. Makes me think Weber!

OH stupid me the 70GT...:) You should not need the accelerator at all with SUs Just pull the choke out and the idle speed should increase..

I get in, I pull the choke and rotate the knob to lock it, and crank. After about 5 seconds which seems too much, I start to goose the accelerator pedal up and down and I can get it to kick over faster than to let it sputter to life after cranking 10secs.

I'll have to teach my 17 yr old the tricks when it is time.

Pull choke all the way out (cold engine only) start the engine (foot off the gas),as soon as engine starts, Push choke in half way with your foot on the accelerator keep the engine idle stead at 2000 rpms, for approx a minute an half. Push choke in all the way home, take your foot off the accelerator. Let the engine idle until warm or for about five minutes, drive away. This procedure worked great for me with the midget, Increase procedure times in real cold weather.

To geet hot air on my feet I have to open a flapper on the side of the heater box. One on the drivers side and one on the passengers.
Could the fan be wired backwards? I don't know, but am sure some one will.

Fan wired backwards, humm that is a thought. Well It is is DC and I know that would matter but the switch must be just an inline continuation of the DC circut? or?? Does it really matter what terminals the or wires female go onto the blade connectors of the switch? Hey, this is Lucas so I will ask:) Logic says no Lucas well?
I've done the mechanical work before but not electrical.

+ or - don't matter.

Either way, a DC motor will spin the same way.

Your heater motor squirrel cage fan has an arrow showing the direction the motor should turn. If it turns the wrong way. change the wires going to the motor....it runs either way...
