I am changing back to Lever Shocks from a conversion done back in the early 90's. This is the plate below the spring and is held up by 4 nuts (#14 on Moss Diagram). I notice the lower mounting plate in the diagrams show the lower mounting link Hole facing the upward position. The tube shocks required the mounting plate hole to face down. Would someone be so kind to post a picture of their Rear Lever shock mounting plate and how the link from the lever mounts to it. Perhaps I had to flip the plates over but TIME had dulled my memory. (I forgot!). A good photo from the front of spring toward the rear would be great. The Lever Shocks flush & bleed easy once they are off the car. The R/B Front Shocks from World Wide in Madison prompted me to change back. They are 1st class and Peter is a extremely good person to deal with..

I just had to do this to take off tube shock and reinstall the levers. Take off both lower plates and change sides with them. Then they will fit hole up. I took pressure off of both by carefully jacking each side up together. Undo 4 nuts on each, flip, replace the nuts.
Thanks Bill! the pic tells it all. I had forgotten, but something told me i had to flip or switch sides to get the tubes to work. I did this back in 1993 and drove over 120K miles. The lever shocks seems to feel smoother or just the ride seems softer. The gas shocks made the suspension feel stiff.
BTY, i leave the Hardtop on and drive the car in the winter. I have a heated driver seat and the 5.0L makes enough hot water for the heater.
Thanks again and have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season.
Replaced the rear Tube Shocks yesterday with my OEM lever types. They were not leaking so I flushed and refilled with 20w. Bel-ray Cycle Fork Oil. They seem to feel good and hope to take a ride when the rain lets up. The Ford 8.8 dif. made the new 7/16" u-bolts spread out when using the MGB lower plates. Had to elongate the holes. Thanks for the Pic and help!
