Hi All,
Im getting ready to install a new hood liner after just having car repainted do you or should you sand the area where liner is going to be glued? And does the 3M adhesive hold up good? Or is there something better? Thanks

No need to "sand", just clean the area you'll be gluing extreamly well... and I have yet to find anything better in the long run than the 3M (gorilla snot)

Hi Clyde, I just did this @ 4-5 days ago. What I did was take the hood off the car by leaving the hinges attached- so there would be no alingment questions when I put it back on the car. But I used contact cement(weldwood) I lightly sanded off the debris that was there from the last liner, cleaned up as best I could, dry fit the new liner - to be sure of the fit(just abit had to be trimmed) . I then applied the contact cement to the metal & then to the jute side of the liner. The metal side took @ 10% of the can, - the liner took @ 60-70% of the rest or the can. It fit well & sounds better.
