I have proven that the hood hinges CAN be removed WITHOUT removing the dash (see photo) ....it only requires the removal of skin from knuckles and wrists...... Anyway.... My hood hinges are bent, does anyone know of any dimensions... measurements... or anything at all i can compare to my existing hinges?

LOL! Great pic! Sorry, I don't have any dimensions (since I am in the same boat as you), but at least now I know that they can be removed without the removal of the dash...

I have one out of the car that I can measure for you when I get home from work tonight. At least now I know what position I need to be in when I install it.

I am actually considering relocating the pedals, seats, dash, steering wheel... front end, rear end.... etc.... it would be easier than reinstalling that hood hinge bolt.... Also, i have yet to attempt removal of the passenger side bolt....looks like there is even less room on that side.!!!

Any measurements would be helpful... i have four hinges, and the more i look at the 3 i have out of the car... the more i think each one is bent....

I have a pair of hood hinges from a late model Spridget and they may ?? fit the earlier? (the double hinge type) 455-875 Moss in V G condition if that helps....$40 the pair plus UPS. oneandout(at)att(dot)net.

late hinges will not fit the early cars. Early hinges recess into the firewall, late ones are flush.

Here you go. I measured 10 1/2 from one end to the center of the pin hole.

and 5 13/16 from the edge of the flange to the center of the pin hole. Let me know if you need any thing else.

Thank you!!!! and your hinges are known to be straight and true right? Thank you for your help!!! Although, i am even more worried now... because my hinges do not look like your example... mine seem to have "crumple zones" in the area of the bend. I thought it may have been from the stamping process. but maybe not. But thank you for the measurements! I hope i have 2 straight ones in the bunch!!!

You're welcome. Yes mine are straight, I bought them from Moss quite a while ago to replace mine. Sounds like my old ones are in the same condition as yours (probably from the wind blowing the open hood up on the previous owner) so now the hood binds at the cowl and sits too high when closed. I'm hoping the new hinges will fix it.
