I know this is off topic, but I also know that some of you don't go there. This was just too precious, and I wanted to pass it along to the max. no. of people. I heard an interview on the Bob and Tom radio show today, of an 8 yr old boy (9 yr old now) who wrote a book called "How to Talk to Girls." He is going to be on Jay Leno tomorrow night. So, watch/tape/tevo whatever. He is wish beyond his years. "Sometimes a girl likes you. Then she dumps you. Life's tough. Move on."

I hope you enjoy!

I have many good reasons I avoid the OT forum.

This is one.

I remember hearing something about the book once before. But I'm sure exactly where. I'll be sure to watch.

I found that having a Corvette eliminates the need to talk to girls...of course I didn't find that out until I was married so it didn't help :)

Why? Do you talk to the Corvette instead? What's the conversation about? Never mind - I don't want to know.

Why oh why do people constantly post OT on this forum saying "I know this is OT but I'm posting it here anyway because no one goes over there." SOMEONE must go over there or there wouldn't be an OT forum. When I see OT mentioned in the subject line I ignore it.
I just don't get it.

It's mostly a political pissing match these days. Pretty bad too. I've lost a good bit of respect for some people in there, people who otherwise deserve a LOT of respect but can't resist being jackasses. And I mean TOTAL.

Any topic will get turned into a political slapfight in OT. I can't say I blame people for coming in here and trying to talk about OT things, but it really is kind of distracting.

I mean no disrespect... but I've never really understood the complaints on the OT posts. Wouldn't it be less bothersome to just not read it if you're not interested vs. taking the time to comment?

Just a thought...... (from someone who enjoys SOME of the OT items, and the others that I don't, I just move on)

Well, I see where you are coming from and after I respond to this I'm tapping out, but by your logic, should we even have different forums? Or maybe everyone can just post what's on their mind in one humongous thread with no real rhyme or reason. There's a reason for rules, especially on the internet... Go spend an hour in OT and tell me your brain didn't go all mushy and green.

What's irked me about this place (it's not a major complaint) is that the site owner doesn't really seem to moderate at all, indeed it kind of seems like he doesn't even give a crap about it anymore. The phorum software is 3 years out of date.

The reason there is an OT forum is to separate the crap that goes on there from the car talk, which is what most of us are here for. If you allow OT posts in the MGB section, then who will stop all the politics and everything else from spilling over as well? Since people can't police themselves, there have to be hard-edged rules about what you can post and where. It's a sad truth, but it only takes one rotten apple to ruin everything and on the internet even good people often act like rotten apples.

Scott, I would love to tell you all about how I agree with your feelings but I think I should refrain. ;)
