Anyone know how to fill a jack with oil?....i have a 3 ton sears here (very old but normally very reliable....till a pos borrowed it and lay it sideways so all the oil leaked out)

either thru the fill hole or back out the lock/unlock screw and fill there....use trans fluid....it's cheaper

Add oil to the fill hole with the jack collapsed. A pump oil can works good for this as does a big hypo syringe. If you fill with the ram out, when you collapse it it will likely blow the fill plug out.

There is hydraulic jack oil in pressurized cans available too. Squirting it in through that tiny straw makes easy work of it.
