I had an MGB once that had permanent streaks from bad wiper blades on the windshield. I needed new blades on my 07 Jetta but had to wait to get them as I'm in a rural area. I had to use the old blades a few times, and this resulted in the same kind of marks. They look like fog or streaks but don't wash away.
Anyone dealt with these marks before? Any trick to reducing them or eliminating them short of a new windshield?
Thanks,
Jason

As long as they're just streak marks (not scratches), try some '0000'-grade steel wool. I've used this on quite a few windshields and you'll be surprised how clean they come out.
A glass polishing compound may work as well. Check with your local glass specialty house, as they may have some ideas.
Now then, how does one get rid of those irritating skid marks?
There was a topic about this a couple of days ago on the MG forum and someone mentioned using comet to clean windshields. Here is the link.

Comet now days isn't the same as it used to be. It's soft scrub stuff now. How about "Bar Keepers Friend". It still is a scouring powder.
Have successfully used Bon Ami on windshields - but the multi-0 steel wool works well. Body shops use it to remove overspay.

Angle grinder...but you really have to have a gentle touch...
bar keepers friend?...I thought that was a tip jar and a 10 minute fast clock?
Jewelers polishing rouge.. comes in a stick, rub it on generously, buff with polisher, repeat
