The PC doesn't work anymore .... Windows XP ...dell setting comes on goes to windowsXp . Then when you click on user . the only thing that shows is the screen saver. A message comes up saying Normaliz.dll is not responding ty to reinstall. The only thing that will work is the task manager. Any ideas on what to do.

When you boot the system, go to safe mode and reload the last working version from I think is the restore console. You may only get one chance.

You might also try while in safe mode going into the control panel or the accessory panel and setting the system back several days unless you would lose some vital info. I had to do this recently because my MS Outlook started running enough memory to shut the PC down, great update from MS that one was.
