Thank you to all who replied I will not use stainless screws and I will order the screws with the right angle. However my screws are straight slot not posi drive. what is correct for the 66B? ( unless I am a total idiot and straight slot and posi drive are one and the same)

I know I will receive wise cracks for that , But hey I own a MG and that has to say something about my mental state.Right?

Don't worry about asking stupid questions, i've posted many myself! I do'nt know the difference between pozi and straight, all i know is that they take 2 different type screwdrivers!

the only difference is in the way the slots are actually cut during the manufacturing process. If you use the correect tool, it just provides for teh ability to put more torque on it while assembly without it slipping out or stripping the head.

I used stainless 10-32 standard counter sunk head. Slot head is correct for 66.

Just measuring the threads (2) 9/16, (4) 3/8 on the top rail, (4) 3/16 on the bottom rail.

On the top one side had the long screw on the outside and the the two shorter on the inside. The other side had the long screw in the middle. It was original glass never pulled out of the frame.

I think mine were posi drive. Going to find out in a week or so, I have to replace my glass again.

Lee. my old windshield was also original and long screws in the middle I made a story board as I took out each screw.
