We should adopt the Japanese way of thinking!
As a part of their oath of office they would have to swear to abide by the rules of Japanese ritual suicide.
Let these criminals do what they want, especially the Federal ones, and then when they fail and screw things up, by the overwhelming social pressure of the population, and by their sworn oath, they will be compelled to commit hara-kiri.
If they don't they and their family for generations will be condemned to complete ostracisation from society and full financial ruin. The act would be the only acceptable way to atone for their stupidity or criminality in handling the public trust.

Not a bad thought..... but they'll want a bail out program
That timeless tradition is based upon honor and I don't think that most of these perps have any honor so it would be meaningless to them. Although that ideology, coupled with public hangings, would go a long way towards lessening the criminal element. At the very least it would make the scumbags a bit leas brazzen in their dealings. Now where did I store that whet rock?

Sorry, Jack, but I disagree. The Japanese are the ones who came up with this "associates" term to use in place of "employees." And I, personally, cringe every time I hear it used by businesses in this country. Nothing more than a gimmick.
Employees are employees - no matter what you call 'em!
Yep on the "associates" BS Tom!
I have never heard it used without thinking about just how full of BS it really is. The only reason it is there is to make the troops feel better about themselves.
I have to ask, what is the shame in being an employee?
