Take a look at www.nerocam.com/SCC_TAP.asp
as they progressively strip - and I do mean strip - a Sentra bit by bit, doing 1/4 mile runs in between. Aside from making you laugh, it is an object lesson in the effects of weight on race cars.

Anyone want to volunteer an MGB for this sort of 'tuning'......
A point thing should be in place to compensate us bigger drivers. A car with a skinny little driver should be required to carry some extra weight in the passenger seat. :D
Motorcycle guys have known about this power to weight ratio thing for years.
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Hayabusa>
This Suzuki would probably go slower if anything was stripped off. Most successful MC racers are about the size of a jockey.
There was an article in Hot Rod years ago demonstrating the Power to weight thing. They had an old 70s Cadillac with the 500 engine. Kept hacking the body off & showing the reduced ETs.
That was HILARIOUS.
They took almost 1100 lbs off that car and only got 2 seconds?
The old drag racing guideline was a tenth per 100 lbs. So getting 2 full seconds out of 1100 lbs was a deal.
