I'm literary 10 minutes away, if anyone's interested I'll try to take a look at it. Seems like it would be a great project. I want it SO MUCH....... but with 2 projects of my own and 1 of my moms, I don't think my step-dad would appreciate it if he found another old sports car in his backyard. So I pass it along to you
If anyone is interested.... I can't have it

When I inherited my mom and dads 73GT the first thing my wife said was-thats going to be a bottomless pit ,financially speaking.she never spoke a truer word, and mine was in much better condition than the one in the photo.over the years I have stubbornly carried on regardless and got mine back to a decent condition, but have lost appetite for all the money it costs, especially with economic climate as bad as it is,I'm getting old.
O yes Phil my GT "looked" in stunning cond. when I bought it, and STILL became a money (and labour) pit. $2000 USD in parts and about 400 hrs labour later its almost there but still got its paws out begging 8-)
Or we could take up Golf... Spend $10,000 USD a year on the best course you can find. Or say spend $5,000 USD in your garage and have something to show for it. I opt for the fun of the car, and saving the wife $5,000 USD....it's a win-win for me!!!!
Ken
And once it's all sorted out the money will stop being spent on the car. The up keep really isn't bad.
and a 100 years from now the money wont matter to you
they are just fun to work on
you can spend as much or as little fixing up these cars
ric
After you get the car finished you can take your clubs and play golf.
Olin,
Thanks for posting this , I may be interested if it has an overdrive. I get over to Athens about once a week. I may try contacting the owner.
That IS a fixer upper! You could probably get your money out of it if they'd take $500 for it. Dual carbs and manifold, single carb and manifold, possibly good engine and trans, interior is shot.
I bought my 74 MGB for $2500 and found more rust then expected. Was given inner and outer sills. Had to buy doglegs, membrane and 1/2 a cross section. Will end up with $500 in parts. But for $3000 I should have a pretty solid car. Besides my wife thought I needed a winter project to keep me sane - I was starting to look at old tractors again and he friends can't ride in them. If it was about time and money non of these would be on the road anymore. :)-D
