Trying to figure out the correct and original location of the ignition switch for the 69 MGB. I looked in the Moss catalog, but it does not show if it was on the console or on the steering column. Any ideas?

You mean number 57 in the catalog? It's on the column, I used to own a '69.

Be Coming

Jason.

The 68 and 69 US spec. cars had the ignition switch mounted on the rhs of the steering column.

It's an interesting and unique lock and switch assembly.

The switch mechanism is the same as used for the dash mounted applications, except that it has a pigtail of wires connected to truncated terminals. This switch is mounted on the left of the column.

A locking bar fits into the switch mechanism and crosses the bottom of the column to a lock tumbler assembly mounted on the right of the column.

The original switch with pigtail is no longer available, but you can use the earlier dash mount switch by soldering the original pigtail to the switch terminals.

Kelvin.
