Just down the road from me but the listing looks a little odd. If it is legit, there are a lot of us up here that could look for someone.

Actually.. I just called the phone number and spoke to the owner's Wife. It seems legit all right. He is out for about an hour. She said to call back then.

This is a "rear" car (and interesting listing). I thought the ad might have been written by Borat! Hey, do you think those knockoffs have been whacked a few times?
It might be worth going to take a look at the rust situation. If not too bad it sure would be nice to have a right drive MGC to restore!
Hmmm...
Is that license plate in arabic? It would be interesting to see if it is indeed a real car and a MGC at that.
Cheers,
Rob

The Wife sounded South American which makes the picture of the boy and the car sorta possible. Did they have right hand drive British cars down there?
The shifter does look way out of place. What happened to that exhaust? The first photo looks vintage(maybe 60's).
peace, Kyle
That is arabic lettering and writing for sure. I think I spent too much time in Bahrain, Saudi, Kuwait etc. to be wrong on this point.
Hmmm.. Not sure what to make of the wife sounding South American.
I am sure curious about this car now.
Edit.................... After a closer look, I believe it might be from Syria but in arabic for sure. The plate is not clear enough to be certain of the country but it sure looks as I noted above. Not sure if I should add any further thoughts about this car. I might scare someone off from a good find. Just do not bring it too close to my house please! haha...
Cheers,
Rob
re: VIN Number: 500301
Huh?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Appears to have 72 spoke rims (correct for MGC)....but what's up with the selection of photos?!?!
Again....Caveat Emptor.
Just emailed him about the country of origin and if he has the title.

I have to try to grovel to see if I can bring home an Austin. Sheesh... would be getting my own house and garage if I bring home that thing.
"The Wife sounded South American " ???? what does a South American sound like?

Sorry if you were offended kuz1. We have a lot of close friends from Panama. She spoke very similar to them.
what an odd ball listing. Could be interesting! Who knows!?
Not very often at all you get to see a Metal dash MGC. Very cool car over here in NA.
From an educated guess,
from the name he is probably Iranian.
It looks like he might be the young fellow in the picture and that picture looks dated
from the car beside it. ( Rover maybe )
This guy may be the original owner and had it brought to Canada , perhaps before the fall of the Shah.
Would be interesting to know the history behind it.
Right hand drive definately fits with Iran and the 1960's time frame.
The bad spelling might be just that, guy probably never needed to learn proper syntax here in Canada to fully integrate.
It's a multicultural thing up here.
Usually the 2nd generation learns all that and helps dear ol' dad get by.
This car looks like the real McCoy.
Looks sweet. Love the question on the auction, the diff between a B and a C. At least he got the size right.
My guess would be India, since it is RHD and that is where the UK had most of its influence in the middle east.
Update, spoke to the "owner" today, the car is from Iran & did not run for 10 years, sounds like a dealer/importer to me.
Cheers
.
Barry, any idea on what he is asking for it. ?
You could probably get a better inkling on what the true story is if you mosey on up to Thornhill there and see the car in person.
From the pics it does look very solid indeed, very little if no rust at all.
Must be that desert air.
.
Dibs on the roller bar... I've been looking all over for one!
He sez the difference a MGC is from a B is a V6 3.0 "engin" It didn't look like a v6, but outside of the color of the engine, hard to tell if it is a straight 6. No clear picture of engine bay.

It is indeed an MGC block. Never saw one with a generator, though.
The seller is only 5 minutes away from my place, I'm going to look @ the car on Monday & will report back.

Car just sold on Ebay for $ 6000.00 CAN to the penny.
Looks like it will be leaving the country to the land down under mate.
Some one in Australia bought it.
They got a good deal, but the shipping is going to be massive.
Seems proper since it is right hand drive it is going to see some use and in a good climate to boot, won't have to worry about rotting down there provided it's not too near the oceans.
Wonder if someone on this forum bought it ?
