I'm Jasper Nederhoed from Delfzijl in The Netherlands. Since a couple of months I am the proud owner of a '71 MGB GT and that's the reason why I registered on this forum. The color of the GT is Blue Royale and the car was imported from California in 1998. I am the 3rd owner since then. Of course I've encountered the usual problems. Most of them related to electric circuits. But with the help of an electric diagram (internet!) and this wonderful forum I believe these problems now are solved. To do is the replacement of the cylinder head. This job will be done in the 2nd half of October.
So far your forum helped me a lot. Thanks for that!
Jasper

Welcome aboard Jasper! Lots of friendly and knowledgeable people here willing to help out. I have learned lots from this forum, and it's great members.
Welcome Jasper! I'm glad you found your way here, and glad your car found it's way there!
Welcome Jasper.....
Glad to see another 71 GT owner AND another Rover P6 owner as well.... Seems we have much in common...
Michael
Welcome, Jasper. This forum is the largest collection of MGB experts in existence. They have helped me immensely and will help you, too.
Welcome the the best group of MG owners that I know. Looks like you car has the sun roof Shawn is after....
It's a Webasto sunroof, recently mounted over here in Holland.
Nice color for the GT. My brother's 67 is very close to that. Seems like there are quite a few British car fans in the Netherlands.
Hoi Jasper,
Nice to see another Dutch MG enthusiast on this forum. Great looking car. My 1969 MGB GT is about to return on the road after a year's search for missing parts (you do not by any chance have a spare alarm light switch and backrest of the rear seat in black vinyl and white piping you might want to get rid of?).
Michael,
This is my '72 Rover P6B 3500. Ex Switzerland, brougt to Holland in 1998.
Hoi Stan,
Sorry I can't help you with parts. Maybe marktplaats.nl or eBay?
Jasper

Those Rovers are fantastic. My grandfather used to own one. What a great car!
Jasper.... I've been half thinking (there go those voices again) of installing a P6 radio antenna on my GT...... I think it would look cool.... your thoughts?
Michael,
Do you mean the roof mounted antenna? No doubt, perfect look!
Jasper
Welcome Jasper...Your car looks fantastic and that Blue colour is the best!

So I've done some researching on this subject. This is what I found:
Recent statistics (2001) state some 136.000 cars younger than 1975 (our definition of oldtimers is > 24 years of age) in the Netherlands.
British cars amongst them:
6.425 MG (4.970 B's, 588 Midgets)
4.405 Triumph (2.450 Spitfires, 1.138 TR6)
2.974 Jaguar
2.156 Austin
1.418 Rover
800 Rolls Royce
165 Wolseley
So MG is on top of the list!!
