My nylon guide bushing is stuck. Is there any other way of getting it out besides drilling a small hole in it and using a screw to pull it? Gonna be getting a new one anyway.

They're kinda bitchey to get out, for sure. I used to just drive a narrow, sharp screw-driver into them and split them. They'd then come out, easily, in two pieces. Seems like I just plugged some holes and blew ou tthe last one I did with compressed air.
BTW, a Briggs & Stratton valve spring compressor works very neatly for compressing the spring between the two pistons, so that you can use both hands to get a drift in there and drive the link retainer pin out.
It has been a LONG time since I actually rebuilt a Lockheed dual circuit m/c. Last two that were due for overhaul got replaced with new ones, which I got from The Winner's Circle, at Import Carlisle.
I'm going to be going through the complete hydraulic system, on a friend's '73 this spring and I'm just going to use all new components, thru-out. Rebuilding is fine, if you've got the time. Time, however, is getting to be a priceless comodity!
I heated mine with a propane torch until it melted enough to get it out. It's even less fun after you remove the piston. Sore fingers were a free bonus
I tried the screw approach and boogered the cylinder a little.
Next time (like heck!) I'd try heat, as suggested.
No, next time I'll just buy a new or rebuilt one!!!
I'm in the same situation on a Lockheed MC for a '72 Midget. I have leaking at the pushrod, so I'm sure the seal(s) are going. Would rather spend 20.00 for the kit than 160.00 for the whole MC - especially since Moss seems to have dropped their Classic Gold MC from the new catalog. Tried the book method for an hour and I got a big fat nada... Will try the screw method.
Q: Does the Moss repair kit come with the nylon bushing? Hard to tell from their drawings.

Yes everything comes with the rebuild kit. I drilled some holes in my bushing and used a pick with the end bent at 90 deg. I got that sucker out!
Excellent! Good to know. I'll disassemble the little beastie tomorrow. If the guts are ok, I'll get the rebuild kit. If not, I get the the whole shebang. Fortunately, I'll have no problem taking advantage of Moss' sale and get free shipping.
