I have just purchased a Bermuda Hardtop for my 1972 MGB
Its in dire need of restoration and replacement brackets, I have noticed the front brackets are the same as the fold down hood so no problems getting spares but the rear ones seem to be specific to Bermuda tops. Anyone any ideas where I could track down these type of brackets ??

I dont know about the Bermuda top (I have snugtop). A picture of the area where it sits on the body
would be helpful in determining how it mounts.

Steve; Where can you get spares for the front brackets?

Kevin If you are talking about the clamps that hold the header rail to the windshield, they are available from all of the usual suppliers--Moss, VB, Roadster Factory

I have included a photo of one of the rear brackets and as you can see its definatly not "normal".
If anyone has an idea of where I could get brackets like this I would be very grateful

Cant really tell but is it suppose to slide into the tear drop on the rear shelf?
Anything by the door opening?

Sorry Photo not that good
But it does slide over the securing bracket on the "back shelf" then using the funny shaped object - it screws up and then tightens up.
Difficult to explain

Steve I would be interested in any information you have on this top as I have just purchased "a used and in need of some TLC Bermuda hard top".

I dont appear to have the "Funny Shaped Object" though.

Check out these on eBay.

Might be the ticket.

Those brackets are for the sides of a factory hardtop - they are not for a Bermuda hardtop. The nice thing about factory hardtops is that most of the spare parts are still available.

Bermuda tops are very cool but the parts are very NLA. You need to either fabricate or look on eBay UK and hope to get lucky.

When it comes to hardtops, I would recommend buying the nicest one you can find. Restoring an old hardtop costs more than people think.
