MGB in evening news

A young student at Bob Jones University faked being beat up - he said by phony cops - a few weeks ago. The local news folks did a "spot" report in front of BJU, and who just happened to be driving by on Wade Hampton Blvd? None other than yours truly, cruising with top down. The wife saw it, but forgot to look for herself as she was following a short distance back! Oh, BTW, the guy was found to be lying and had actually beat himself about the face and head with a baseball bat to look convincing. He said he was trying to gain attention.

I thought being in Opus Dei was strictly a Catholic gig. BJU isn't a Catholic university now is it? LOLOL

That guy beating himself up reminds me of an old fellow I once new, he was born 100 years too late. He should have been a horse trader or selling whisky to Indians but he was an independent trucker with debt collectors constantly on his trial. When a payment was due on his truck he'd hide it in a barn in the next county and claim he had loaned it to sombody and it was 'way down in Alabama somewhere. One time the repo man was right next to part the one he was after and didn't know it. Rosco got wind that they were after one that was disabled and had taken it apart and scarttered it all over town. Another time he hauled some cattle about 50 miles to a sale barn for an old farmer, sold them, went out and beat his head bloody on the side of the trailer, told the old man he'd been robbed, and kept the money. He ended up getting ran out of Missouri and the last I knew of him, about 45 years ago, he was trucking out of Robertsdale, AL.
