In the "whatever happened to that idea" category.

Decided it was a silly idea (had some help from a few other guys also).
Too expensive.
Too complicated.
Loss of too much power.
Ring bedding in issues on gas.
Just plain dumb.

There's a reason you don't see gas powered LBC's running around.

Chris;
I have owned propane powered vehicles in Canada, and they work!!!! They were as common as dirt for years on large fleets of commercial vehicles, taxi cabs and trucks. No big deal. I will write you with more details later. Hardly any negatives, and many plus's+++. I was a high mileage traveller on propane. Would do it again in a heart beat.

My old Landy V8 ran on propane. No problems at all and very cheap mpg. I worked it out that I was getting the equivalent of 40 mpg if I were using petrol. It ran better, cleaner, oil was cleaner at oil changes. No real loss of power. The exhaust fumes smelled vile though. Also everywhere I went little flowers appeared at the roadside :)

David, no question that they work. The main issue is that here in Aus. it can't be DIY.
There is no kit available so a gas fitter has to build it up from scratch and because of compliance issues all the rigging has to be done from trial and error.
Too complicated and too expensive.
