Now that I am on my third MG build, I didnt think I would have to bother you guys. I have become pretty adept at the search function and also ferreting out info on Google - but here I am!!
When I did my MGA, there was a labelled firewall diagram available listing grommets and line routes. Have not found such a tool for the B, so I guess I am asking for assistance in laying out/labelling my MK I firewall penetrations. Lacking that, would someone be able to e-mail me a high resolution image of their stock firewall.
Thanks!
John L.
PS - I havent been posting over here because this is kind of a plain vanilla restoration. But if you are interested, you can find a build photo album here:

You are doing excellent work, and a great job of documenting it. That's quite a garage space you've got there!
Thanks Geoff. I leafed through the entire AngloParts catalog and didnt pick up on what I was looking for. However, it was a nice change of pace from the Moss approach. I didnt spot what I was wanting there either. However, when I went back to my parts car tonight, part of the mystery was solved, as the PO has simply removed stuff by snipping it off. So I found traces of the water temp gauge capilary tube where it penetrated the firewall. ditto for the oil pressure tube. That takes care of two of the holes I questioned. I think I see by Lee Millers post on Engine Bay that the heater cable goes through the second hole on the shelf, RH side. (Wow, how many times does that occur over here, twice a year??) So I'm getting there!
Benny - thanks for the compliments. It is astonishing to me how fast this one is going. Including bodywork. The MGA Coupe took 3 years while I have only been on this one about 4 months. I no longer have to spend time studying it (except for the firewall penetrations). The shop is a 75 year old double decker chicken coop that I rebuilt over a course of 20 years! I now have gas furnace, exhaust system, compressed air lines, and am hoping for a lift someday. But it's a fun man cave. And I have managed to kick out everything non-automotive, almost...

Check! The heater box was the culprit that started this whole mess. I wanted to attach the cable to the vent flapper inside while the heater was still loose, so I wouldn't bust my knuckles up too bad. That's when I started puzzling over which holes were for what!
Thanks Paul! Seein's you have a 64, take a look at the vin #GHN3L31151 for my 65 and tell me if it is a 64 or an early 65. It appears to be a late 64 rather than an early 65. It is indeed pull handle, as is my parts car, which I consider to be more appropriately an early 65.
Thanks,
John L.
Hey John,
Was wondering what you were up to...good to hear from you again.
Cheers
Paul
