I'm selling one of my cars and it's my first car sale on eBay. The auction starts tomorrow, but if you go to eBay UK I think it will display it. It's item # 300158516744.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300158516744&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D300158516744%26fvi%3D1

I would truly appreciate feedback. I can edit it before it begins. Thanks

Matt

Sorry gents. It appears that only I can see the listing until it actually starts in 23-ish hours. If you think of it tomorrow I still would like some advice.

Cheers
Matt

I can't get it either. I even tried going to Eby.co.uk and did an Advanced Search for Item Number 300158516744.

Matt, why not post here the text and picture from the Listing. It'll be a start.

This is a beautiful driving 1993 Jaguar XJ6 with a 3.2 liter engine and (at least in 1993) was the quintessential British Touring Car. It has the Jaguar shifting mechanism that allows the driver to use the transmission in either the automatic or semi automatic mode. I would drive this car without hesitation virtually any distance. If I had garage space and didn't develop such a powerful obsession with MGs, I would continue to keep this car.

Since I was a boy I have always admired Jaguars and I found this locally and bought it in September 2006 and purchased it for 750 GBP. I have enjoyed this car and my family has taken it on holiday trips including Warwickshire, Wales, and Stonehenge and and it has performed brilliantly. I've had visitors off and on all spring and summer long, and this was always our car of choice for touring this beautiful country. I have driven this car just over 4000 miles. It has plenty of power and will stop as hard as you want.

I rarely drove the car to work...we generally saved it for our trips and when we had visitors. I have hardly driven it this last month. Until recently, the Jaguar occupied my garage. It is now outside the house and eagerly waiting a new owner to use her as she was designed to be used. I have acquired another car that has taken her prestigious place in the garage and the lovely Jaguar must now find a new home.

I serviced the engine with fresh oil and a filter less than 4000 miles ago. I also flushed the cooling system and replaced all the hoses. The car passed the MOT inspection in June and has covered less than 2000 miles since then.

At the new owners discretion, I will perform an oil and filter change when the seller takes possession of the car. If he/she does not want me to do that, then I will put the genuine Jaguar oil filter and Castrol oil in the boot. This is no small gesture. The big cat's oil sump holds nearly 10 quarts of oil and the filter itself sells for almost 9 pounds. In addition, the new owner will leave with a full tank of quality petrol. Again, this is no trivial token...it is a big tank and this car is made to tour for a long time between fill-ups.

The car appears to have been given the proper amount of attention in it's lifespan. I inherited the service book and it is full. Each required service up to 15 years/150,000 miles is documented.

In April 2001 at 137,703 miles the car had major engine work. The cylinder head was professionally machined and refitted properly. New head studs were fitted, valves were replaced, new timing chain, etc. This was just a little more than 40,000 miles ago.

I recently replaced the rocker gasket on the motor and when I took the cover off I had to admire the workmanship and gleam of the inner workings of this amazing engine.

Here are the things I have found that you as the prospective purchaser must know. You may feel some of these require attention, but none of them affect the drivability or safety of the car.

Since moving the car outside, I've noticed that when it rains, both the driver's and passenger's floormats get wet.

I replaced the battery a couple months ago and that caused the anti-theft bit of the radio to "lock" it. I can not find a code in the owner's manual.

The air conditioning has been disconnected sometime after August 2000 when it was last recharged.

The driver's electric seat controls are a bit dodgy...the motor makes the right noises...it just doesn't move the seat up and down.

There is a warning lamp that illuminates when the brakes are applied. I almost didn't buy the car because of this, but I checked the owners manual and it said this means the brake sensors think the pads are worn. I don't see a problem with the pads and it passed the MOT. There is absolutely no problem with the braking ability of this car.

The heating system works quite well, but the controls will not change the direction of the airflow. When you turn the fan on you get air at your feet and the windscreen.

The trip computer has baffled me since I've had the car. Either I'm not clever enough to figure it out or it's dodgy (or a combination of both).

The alarm/immobiliser worked a bit too effectively this spring. My garage had to disconnect the spark side of the immobiliser, but the petrol side still operates as it should.

The car appears to have been resprayed in the last few years with a fresh coat of British Racing Green. When it's washed it gleams. When you get real close you can see that it's not a brilliant respray and was not taken down to bare metal.

There is a parking lot/door ding in the rear passenger door.

Of course, there is no warranty with this car. Please be sure you want this Jag before you bid.

Please feel free to email or phone for details. My mobile is 07917 540 772. If you phone, may I ask that you call before 8 PM?

The car is available for viewing/inspection/test drive. I live two miles north of Brandon, Suffolk which is about 35 miles northeast of Cambridge.

I will be out of town Tuesday the 9th through Thursday the 11th.

I have bought a car on eBay, but not sold one here. I notice that many sellers have several conditions to avoid disagreements and confusion so let me do the same.

I will require 100 GBP via Paypal within 72 hours of the auction ending. The full price of the car will be paid upon collection. I will accept only cash (or paypal).

I am not comfortable with bidders with low or negative feedback. I know that everyone on eBay all started off at one time with zero feedback, so if you are new to eBay, please contact me to discuss bidding. If you have negative feedback that concerns me as a seller then I may cancel your bid.

I have the car advertised in Classic Car Weekly and reserve the right to withdraw the car prior to the end of the auction. However, I would not withdraw the car once the reserve has been met, unless of course, the Buy It Now option is used. So, once the reserve is met I will not accept offers outside eBay to include callers from the CCW advert.

I am not able to transport this car, but will gladly pick up the buyer from the Brandon train station.

I truly hope this lovely Jaguar finds a new owner that will treasure and enjoy her. Don't hesitate to ask questions or come out for a visit. Please note again that I will not be able to answer any emails for the few days listed above.

Looks straight enough. None of the problems mentioned are too serious, but with Jags that doesn't mean they're cheap to fix. I'd leave out the bit about what you paid for it. That would indicate a guide price and would probably keep the price down.
Otherwise it looks like a decent honest advert.
Good luck with the sale. Unfortunately I currently have 5 cars, so i'm needing to sell a couple at the minute.

I'll give you 99p for it. Does that include shipping to the Colonies?

Nice listing, very descriptive.

How many pictures have you supplied? That's the critical part.

Pete-I spent some time considering including the purchase price-you raise an excellent point. I really don't care if I get more than the purchase price. My family has truly enjoyed the car (my dad was so chuffed to have this at his disposal whilst he was visiting and our friend on this site, Hunts, also drove it during his recent visit) and I simply want to find the Jag a new home. I may edit that bit out-thank you.

Derek-I am tempted on your offer if it includes a swap of the car in your picture-but the colonies will not allow a 93 to be imported.

Scott-three photos are in the listing

Thanks again chaps

The only thing I would change? Would be to edit out what YOU paid for the car.
