Played today with the wiper arms from one of my Minis. The stainless arms and blades sold for Minis as "11 inch heavy duty right hand park/left hand drive" are precisely the same as those on my B.

I also tried the regular duty 10" arms and blades and these also work, though the blades are not interchangable between the heavy duty and regular duty arms (so they won't work on stock MGB arms). The regular duty arms are generally ineffective too, and should only be considered "decorative". But they are moderately cheaper.

From UK supplier Minispares, heavy duty arms and blades are sold individually and as pairs in various kits (some of which even include wiper box hardware). Prices as follows (and are plus postage from the UK, though Minispares has traditionally had very good UPS and postage rates):

11" Heavy duty stainless arm, single - $14
11" Heavy duty stainless blade, single - $10
11" Heavy duty stainless arm and blade, pair - $43
11" Heavy duty stainless arm and blade, pair, plus wiper box hardware and washer jets - $70

10" Regular duty stainless arm, single - $9
10" Regular duty stainless blade, single - $9
10" Regular duty stainless arm and blade, pair, plus wiper box hardware and washer jets - $66

So you can see this is quite a bit cheaper than from Moss or VB, even with postage.

I'm going to try the wiper box hardware tomorrow, to see if that's also the same (I rather expect it will be). The washer jets, however, are not the same and you'd need a bigger hole in your scuttle panel to make them work.

So, did Minis come with the extra-special wiper arms that go flying off into the rainy night when you use them? That's especially cool with the stainless ones, because they glitter so nicely in the headlights and raindrops as they disappear.
