This is a photo I took for wiring routing reference, but it also shows that I am missing some sort of ID plate just to the right of the wiper gear routed through the firewall. Does anyone know what ID plate should be there?

A ZA would have it's serial number plate there. For a ZB it should be on top of the scuttle. Should there be a commission plate there?

Both of my ZBs have a plate there. I always assumed it was the body/chassis number but to tell the truth I never looked very closely at it.
I am missing that plate, and the one on the bonnet shut panel too. When I got my car it was dissasembled, and in a junk yard. No chance of getting those original plates back. I sent off for a Heritage certificate many years ago hoping to find those numbers. But, no other numbers were recorded. In fact, my certificate gave me no other information other than what I gave them.
It was very dissapointing.
Its no surprise that they go missing. Its a relatively fragile aluminum tag. Here's what mine looks like in the '58, and it appears to have been removed and replaced once, then painted over and cleaned up so you can read it. Looks like it'll break if I touch it!
