This just in from Moss Motors...
Bad news for those of us up here in NJ-NY-Eastern Pa. who liked to go to the Dover, N.J., warehouse for parts. Especially after the big Britfest show nearby, when they'd offer a discount.
But good news for those you down Richmond way.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Moss Motors, Ltd. Announces East Coast Expansion/Relocation
Goleta, CA, March 10, 2008 - Moss Motors' East Coast distribution facility is moving. Established in 1988, Moss' Dover, NJ warehouse no longer has sufficient space to expand. Taking into account distribution patterns, cost of living and lifestyle issues, the decision has been made to move distribution to a new facility in Virginia.
The world's oldest and largest supplier of British sports car restoration and accessory products, is also a fast growing supplier of modern accessories for various Ford, Mazda and BMW Mini models. Company President, Glen Adams, says "By moving to larger quarters, we can better serve our east coast customers, and expand product lines. Product availability will be dramatically improved and overall delivery times reduced. Relocating to Virginia also helps our staff by placing them in a more affordable environment."
The move will take place in the second half of 2008. Notification will be given before New Jersey ceases operations. However, orders will continue to be processed daily from California as usual. This will mean slightly increased delivery times for east coast customers while the move takes place, but availability will improve, and delivery times drop as the new facility comes on line. Every effort will be made to reduce or eliminate the impact on delivery times.
Located south of Richmond, VA, on 22 acres, the new building offers 112,000 square feet of combined office and warehouse space. The site is already prepared to allow for approximately 100,000 square feet of warehouse expansion. A park like setting makes the new location ideal for marque days and other promotional activities.

Thanks Kim -- bummer...that was a really handy location. Good news is that the company I am working for is in Northern VA, so I will just have to coincide trips...
;)
Hey, hi, Sunny!
Maybe they'll have a big sale before they move . . .
And I guess now you can become the "Moss mule" for our club, taking orders when you head down there ...
OOPs! Just noticed someone else already posted on this below.
(That's what I get for ignoring the MGB Experience for so long ... My posting skills are very rusty!)
Anybody know where south of Richmond is? Petersburg? Just wondering...
Yeah, a nice late summer sale moving sale would be nice. Next time I go down to VA I am taking my bumpers for rechroming to Hanlon Plating....but that will hopefully before Moss moves...
:)

Sure glad to have you back Kim - --ya are going to stay for awhile aren't ya :) :)
I have family in Richmond and will have even more reason to visit now. South of Richmond is Chesterfield and Powhatan Counties. This will save me big time on postage.
Well that is kinda a pisser that you knew this prior to me who actually sells to east coast folk.
Still, I hope you and Chas can make Gary's Run this year; we will have something for you to ride in.
Edit: Meaning Moss is the irritant, not you! That wasn't clear enough earlier.
This is very close to my home and will be convenient to say the least. When y'all come down for our European Car show on the second weekend in September each year you can swing by Moss for a visit. I hope Moss will work with our British Car Club on events and for support.

Hey Naomi,
Does your sig. mean that you have two locations, one in Greensboro, and one in Roanoke, or that you are located between the two? We live in Marion, VA (Exit 45 of I-81).
If you are driving this way, send a message.
Paul
Good to see you back Kim.. Hope all is well..
Strange.. Your last post was 3/7/07 and your return post, when the site went down, was on 3/7/08.. one year to the day..
Wow, couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your post. It has been a long time. Good to see your name again.

Hello Kim from sunny BC. Glad to see you have resurfaced on the BBS.
Gary's Run is in the North West US this year.
Wow! Dover is only about 25 minutes from me. It was real convenient. That sucks that they are moving. I guess the Fall-fest show will be in Virginia from now on.
Yeah, sorry to all my old friends for abandoning you here . . . It's been WAAAY too long! I just need to get back into the MGBE "habit." (Which was nearly an addiction for me once upon a time, back in the day...)
Things are good, in that I'm really happy working at home. Our household income got just about cut in half when I decided to take this plunge, though, so that means precious little leisure time -- I spend just about every waking moment on the computer, ironically enough, so you'd think I could carve out some time to spend here on the MGBE . . .
I'm doing two club newsletters and three club websites now, so I'm far from quitting the British car habit, that's for sure ...
Just had my B out yesterday, as a matter of fact. Weather wasn't go great, I just had that ITCH to drive it. Running great, I'm glad to say. (Because if anything major happens to it any time soon, it would be a long time until I could scrape excess money together to get it fixed.)
Which is one way to say, Chris, that as much as we would LOVE to come out for Gary's Run V (Five years already! Can't believe it!), it's not really possible for us to get money together for the airfare at this point in time. Unless something really wild happens between now and then (like I find $1,000 under the mattress), it's just not going to happen.
