This was probably a mistake but I went for the vintage 2-point seat belts. I've reviewed a lot of previous threads on belts but still haven't found the answer to mounting the outside belt. The inner belt on the tranny tunnel was easy but I don't know where the outside belt mounts to. Right now I have them mounted on the wheel well using the chrome cap nut but that seems much too high and uncomfortable. Anyone tell me or have a pic of the mounting point for the outside belt?

I have mine mounted to the outer rail, the original bolt location.
By "outer rail" do you mean the inner sill (Moss #458-280)? Is there a threaded hole or nut welded on the inside of the sill? Any chance you have a picture of the location?
Not up to speed with the picture thing on the internet. Yes that is the sill and on ours their is a threaded nut in the sill about 2" from the rear of it.
Bob: See my post in your earlier one re the chrome castle nuts. Here is a picture showing the threaded hole at the rear of the inner sill. Bill

Hi Bob, The photo below shows the location on my '72 Roadster...
Rick: Not to hijack this thread, but how does one add graphics as you did?

When you reply to a message click the "attach" radio button... that will take you to another screen where you can browse your photo archive and "attach" a photo.

Hi Bill, I guess you might be referring to the yellow circle on the photo. I used the Windows program "Paint" to do this. Open the photo file with Paint, then choose a color from the palette on the bottom of the screen. Choose the "ellipse" object tool, and draw a circle around the desired area. Then save the file. I'm taking appointments for training classes via WebEx if anybody's interested. ;)
Thanks everyone,
I think I've covered that hole with new carpet!! At least your pictures show me where to probe around to see if I can find it. Better that than pulling the carpet out.
