Thought I would leave a note here for the budget minded about the mufflers that have been on my 1978 mgb for over 4 years. I'm running a '63 buick HP engine. The mufflers are Cherry Bomb #16802 and are readily available from Auto Zone and Pep Boys for around $22 each. The muffler has an oval shape with 2" ID on both the inlet and outlet. It is offset in and center out. The body of the muffler is 13" long and the overall length including inlet and outlet openings is 17". It is 7 3/4" wide and only 3 1/4" high. The Auto Zone part # is 398008 16802. These mufflers are a little on the loud side, but have a deep throaty/mellow sound that I like. One could always add an inexpensive resonator downstream to further quiet the beast down....
