After a 25 mile run to work in my '79 MGB, the tach, fuel gage, temp. gage and windshield wipers all quit working. Is there one circuit that is common to them? Is there a fusesomewhere I don't know about. Is this a voltage stabilizer malfunction. The car starts and runs fine but the wipers are stuck in the up position. Any Ideas?

Third fuse down, it's probably blown.

I replaced it because the glass/metal had separated. I put in a 10 Amp. It seems to be ok. What should the AMP rating be? The other ones in the box are 35's

I think you want to go with a 17 amp fuse, or whatever you can find close to that. The ones that were stock could handle 35 amps max, while the ones you buy in the store today can handle, I believe, double their rating for a few seconds, with the rating being the constant it can handle.

Mike the Wiz, you were right that fuse was blown. The filament was so fine that I couldn't see the break. Thanyou for your expertise.

The correct fuse is a 17/30 amp, you can get them from Jaguar dealers or some LBC suppliers. If you can't get then 20 amp US fuses are an acceptable substitute.

My local Advance Auto carries fuses labeled as "British" and are the correct fuses. It was a nice surprise to see them on the rack with all the other fuses.
