Just thought I would post a pic or two of Rusty's axle straps...

Sorry to say that I'll actually be taking them off as well - I decided to lower the car and I'll be using shorter straps from brittek. But these are such works of art that I thought they should at least get to go on the car for a little while.

Now look what you've gone and done Richard! You'll now need to restore your car's undercarriage to match those purtty new straps! :D And, by the way, Rusty can make those staps any size you need.

Ummmm.... Poor quality ones? ;)

Rusty, I'll bet the straps I got from you will outlast my car.

Hmmm.... Don't laugh too loud, sadly, Mac. I don't want to hijack the "Rusty Thread" here, but I'll take and post some pics of what I found the hard way. It'll be a "Rusty Thread" of a different sort. :( (Hint: I think I see next winter's project.)

Richard, I've even got the blue straps to match your car!

Uh oh Rick! Sounds like bad news...

Sorry Rusty, I hadn't planned to lower it when I bought the straps from you. Then I just decided I was tired of it sitting so high, so I ordered the kit. Don't feel betrayed - when I enter the "Concours D'Elegance" http://www.pebblebeachconcours.net/ I'll drive over in the ugly straps and then put on yours just to impress the judges.

I've bought 2 sets of short straps from Rusty so far. No, not because I broke one - a friend got jealous and had to have a set as well! They're the pretty blue ones! I have to say its an improvement over the "custom" rubber ones I had on before.

Heheh... Lucky you've got the Weber. Rusty makes a nice replacement for the SU air filter canisters, too. ;)

(Rusty - 'tain't good news. I found the inevitable rust the hard way - by jacking the car from underneath said rust. Ah, well.... I've about got her dialed in driving-wise, so it's about time for that bit anyway. Mechanical before cosmetic and all that.)

By the time you need the new ones I should have the labels to go on them so everyone know who makes 'em.
