A study in contrasts ...

Era
Technology
Styling

And the view from (under) the bridge

Haha Keith - got it wrong way 'round maybe? (:P)

Hey Todd - The owner was such a conceited a*****e I quit trying to be friendly. Said "Rapier", looked like some sorta Corvette power. I wouldnt humor the jerk by even Googling it ...dont wish to know.

My "tractor" drew more questions and photos anyway hehe.

I like to think of it this way...Could be wrong, but it makes me feel better about people...

Certainly some of the folks who own such cars are appreciative of them for their technology and capabilities. They also understand that buying one is a gamble in that their friends and other folks that they meet might get the wrong impression of them.

On the other hand my guess is that the majority, perhaps the vast majority of the owners have a penis envy problem and don't know much beyond that affliction or perhaps how to make or inherit a lot of money.

A moderately good example of the first batch would be that there are more than a few folks on this board that could buy one of the back creatures, and may actually have, but they don't go around unzipping their fly every time they get a chance.

I suspect that there are NO examples of the second group here, but if there are, at least they have the grace to keep it to themselves.

I think that you did good Marco in trying to engage the guy in the first place, but you did better when you realized what he was and decided to take the high road. He may never know what it is to develop a genuine camaraderie with someone who is not out snake his woman or bust his gonads in a business transaction.

BTW: I long ago decided that if I ever win the lottery and buy out Jay Leno, I would also buy a large non-nondescript building to hold the treasures. There would be doors on both sides so that I could drive my "normal" car in one side, close the door, and drive a treasure out the other side. Then when I was done with the fun stuff I would return the car to the Bat Cave and drive back out the other side wearing my jeans and tee shirt.:)

$129K gets you 222mph, 0-60 in 3.2 sec and laughs from any classy woman who sees you driving that thing. Girls on the other hand will think it is cool so if you are in the market for a 16 year old wife then by all means you ned this car.
