This is the car I have been helping my friend with. The idea was to fabricate as much as possible and make it so that is different from others.
Just sharing with you.

That is REALLY cool! My Dad would be drooling. He's always wanted to build a t-bucket. Looks like you built the frame from scratch?

Yes, he bought the shell with winshield post and radiator shell, all metal with a title
The springs are MGB's one set, cut and use as semiliptic, two halfs in front and the other two in the rear. It is going to have friction shocks made from leather.

The tunnel and floor are integrated with the frame for rigity, the trans tunnel is made from 3/16 steel. It has a 57 Chevy truck 3 speed, new bearings and syncros.
AFV carbs etc.

Are you sure that steering linking is going to be rigid enough? :)

Great craftsmanship! Keep up the good work!

Yes Jeff, at first it was not, now there is no flex on the linkage, my friend build the steering junctions and uses ball bearings to reduce the friction.
The steering wheel was made by another friend, a specialty shop did the bending, he then used stianless rods, an old chevy hub and aluminum wire holders for the spokes, quick disconect from my junk and there you have it, a home made steering wheel.
I can not take credit for all of the work, there is about 3 people working on it and donating time and pieces come from different junk piles from garages . It is a project to get your mind of from the everyday stuff, just for fun and pitch in when possible, no scedules etc.

The idea was to build everything that we could and different with safety in mind. That is why it uses disc brakes at front and late model brake shoes adapted to the old Ford rear axle and with GM master cylinder.

Bill- would it be unwise to suggest you have something of a ummm.... fixation with Chevy V6 connevting rods? I'm starting to worry a bit about you

I see you are making good use of connecting rods...is taht three in the intermediate steering linkage, one on the shift, there is another on in the last photo...can't quite make out what it is up to. Mg Rods or SBC? Too damn funny, and very clever.

That shifter really should be a 5.7" Chevy "pink" rod. ;)

Greg, it jsut takes me away from home for a day. I try to convice them to put a 4.3 V6, but was outvoted.

Chevy rods 283's,350's and ONE (Greg) 60 degree V6 for the clutch, Brian, that is the inside bottom rod you see with the steering, it conects the clutch rod to the bell crank. A bit crazy, but ......why not!!!
