Not bad: Only four months to fit a bonnet!

Well, I still stand by my assertion that the Moss rubber is no good and should not be sold. HOWEVER... I also learned that the way I was aproaching things, the bonnet was never going to fit. What I had to realise is that the back edge of the bonnet does not sit in the bottom of the cowl rubber. The edge on my bonnet was bent at a 90 degree angle. The edge has to be bent further so that it follows the shape of the "V" in the rubber.

I ended up cutting the Moss rubber into 3 4 inch pieces. I placed one over each of the hinge points and one in the centre of the cowl. With the rear flange bent to match the angle of the "V" in the rubber, things dropped right into place; the cowl came down and the gap between the cowl and the bonnet tightened up.

Peter, you continue to inspire me with your craftsmanship. Very nice. Not many of us would have the patience to keep working away until perfection is achieved. I'm sure the car will be stunning when complete and unfortunately most of the great work you've put into it will be hidden, but we know ;)
