It hasn't gotten much warmer around here but at least the sun is coming in from a better angle and the salt is mostly off the roads.
I am getting very tired of being cold all the time and I am developing a continuous case of indigestion because Spring is around the corner and I have no ride of my own for therapy driving. The old red B lives in Knoxville and the green one just taunts me with its promise of becoming an English street rod.
If I don't get out and about in something other than my salt stained truck or the old Subaru pretty soon I think that I'll just go nuts!

I feel your pain Jack. We have had a nice warm week down this way and I am just itching for spring to get here. I am arranging transport for my new toy today and so hope to have it about the time the weather starts really getting nice. Of course there will be some work to do like a new clutch and some ironing out of some carb issues. Until then, I'll just have to be happy scooting around in the Prism.
I know how you feel! This has been a long cold winter and cabin fever is quickly setting in - if it hasn't all ready. Unfortunately, around here winter is no where close to being over. We can have winter right into May and have freezing nights even in June. Speaking of cabin fever, anyone see the episode of Myth Busters on that subject? Interesting.
In Minnesota, we will not see the last frost free day until the middle to the end of May.
So I will get my 'fix' here.

However, my garge is warm 50 degrees, and the 'B' is getting closer to running every day.
It's been three very long years without it, or anything driven 'In Anger'
Dwight, back in another life I had a brother in law that moved to Canada in order to avoid the draft. The family memebrs were all Quakers and I don't fault him for doing it, but he did eventually come back with some pretty tall stories about what you do with all of that ice and snow up there. In fact I still have a jacket patch in my sock drawer from some sort of insane ice racing club north of Toronto.
Sam told stories of the brave souls north of the border who pushed steel spikes through their motor cycle tires from the inside and made them needle sharp before fitting them to bikes that had huge engines and no brakes.
Real men live near Edmonton and north of Toronto and along the shores of Lake Superior!

There are a lot of miles between Edmonton and Toronto. Real Westerners don't like to be associated with T'ronta.
BTW winter is starting to soften on the Prairies, spring is almost here on the 'Wet Coast' (BC). Crocus, snowdrops and daffodils are up - only a couple of weeks late.
Looking for a high of 76 today. Top is down on the 80B and I'm heading out to lunch with my shades on and my jacket in the passenger's seat.
If it will make you feel better, send me the keys to that red MG in Knoxville and I will drive it for you.
If I knew where the guy lived I would make a visit tonight.
No steering column lock, jumper from bottom fuse and another jumper to the red and white wire sticking out of the harness just above the starter.

Welcome to the club, Jack. It is no fun, even with a running GT, being isolated because every escape route is blocked by passes continually being hammered by more snow. At least I can make it around this area, but we haven't seen grandkids and kids and many friends since before October, and this is getting old ~ real old!
Spring is a long way off in this part of the world! Photos of my front yard from late January '08 but the snow is just as deep right now. Temp is -10* C with a wind chill of -20* C or 4* F and -14* F for the metrically challenged. The MG is in a friend's heated garage and the bike is in the corner of my garage wrapped in blankets with battery tender attached.
I'm sorry--------------------------------- NOT!
Middle of February-75 degrees here in Augusta Georgia (land of golf) and the top is off and has been for 4 days now. Lovin it.
Nothing like riding around with the top off. Wind in your hair (what little I have), driving out in the country roads winding it out hugging the inside corners and coming out of them downshifting to third standing on it. Too much fun to get home from work.
Why wait for spring here it comes about every 3 or 4 weeks.
When it does get here my top will only be on if it rains. As my car is a daily driver.

I would say in Anchorage we are way off from spring.

Jack, we've had 6 or seven days near or over 70 deg. First time in history for Feb. I only live an hour or so away from you, so if you think you can still fit in a midget :), maybe I'll see if it can make it up the big hill and we can go for a cruise.
Thanks Tom, but I would have about as much success getting into a Spridget as I would a TD. It MIGHT happen but then you would have to ruin your car with the Jaws of Life trying to get me out. LOL
Jack
Jack I'll bring down my 64 and leave it with you and all you have to do is perform your tune-up and body work magic on it and give it back at the beginning of winter :)
