I just added a second MG to the garage and at the moment I am experiencing complete serendipity. But I fear that another MG may be looming off in the distance - a TC maybe??? Is there any cure for the itch?

Congratulations on a new baby! Why do you think you need a cure? Seems you're OK to me.

A little Calomine lotion should work .... :)

Go for a Tickford Drophead. Why settle for anything less, If your gonna scratch, SCRATCH !!!

I saw these two unique samplings a while ago - I think the first is a tickford, the second is a MG K type. both were on ebay.

Yes I have to admit it, The Airline series is gorgeous too! My wife has put me in a strait jacket already, but I keep getting out. (I read Harry Houdini's book) :) Cut it out you guys, I'm starting to scratch, stop it, stop it! NOW! :)

To me, the Airline coupe is the most beautiful car ever made. But, that's just my opinion. Haven't seen the green one before. Where does it live?

Aug 12, 2006 08:41:26

It does have a unique appeal to it doesn't it... Hmmmmmm airline ....

It was actually for sale in the US. only 150,000 if I recall right.

What do you do to divert yourself from feeling the need to scratch??

Ohhhhhhhh... there it goes again Arnolt.. love it

Isn't that K series a race bodied K3 Magnette? I've seen a K3 Magnette, but with it's blue race body next to it. I'd like to have seen that listing. Does anybody know anything about it?

The tickford is a VA. Gorgeous car but terribly underpowered. The SA was its cousin with approximately 3 liters of straight 6 cylinder engine.

The K-Type is a special and from what I know not entirely original. It has a somewhat modern body installed. and a lot of modification.

The Arnolt is a fantastic car but don't expect it to handle like a TD. It's more of a cruiser. I know of one extremely well restored for sale, but there are two unfortunate facts about it. One is that it has a modern engine and the other is that the gentleman is asking $50K.

The Airline Coupe is a NB model, very rare. It is owned by Gene Ponder of Marshall, Texas.

Once you accept the concept of 'more than one MG' it is a long slipperly slope :)

I'll know the itch has gone farther than skin deep if I start having dreams in my sleep of MGs... Worked on the gt all day yesterday... tired me right out, too tired to tinker today. Maybe I'll just go for a spin instead.

Actually, I just had another - for me it's fiero seats in a mg

Aug 13, 2006 07:44:46

Is that the Pontiac Fiero? Do they still make those?

Aug 13, 2006 08:09:25

Yup, I saw this pic on another thread the other day. Can't remember whose B it is. the armrests are also from a pontiac fiero. looks nice eh?

There is no cure. My other hobby is guitars and tube Fender amplifiers. I knew I had a problem when the answer to "just how many guitars and amps do you own?" was um...I'm not sure any more. Call it G.A.S. gear aquisition syndrome. In it's advanced stages it can develop into G.M.S. gear modification syndrome, the search for the elusive perfect tone.

How many guitars (or LBC's) do we need?

Just one more!

Thats Tony Barnhill's 1979 MGB with fiero seats before it started its transformation to V8 status.

Tony's car looks sweeet..
